Spillwords.com is the home for all that live and breathe words, spilled or inspired, through literature of every genre, from writers and poets of every walk of life. A place where classic, modern, and contemporary writers and writings thrive.

A genuine expression that can be conveyed in any literary form. Spillwords are the thoughts, reflections and deepest feelings and emotions, that expose our most private frailties and exalt the best of a writing community which transcend the obvious and shares the extraordinary.

Because we are passionate about the world we inhabit and are aware that there is more than one perspective on life and the realms we live in. We encourage individuality via the medium of a written word and are committed to presenting it in a fair platform where all literary forms are accepted and celebrated without prejudice.

Our mission is to give both, published and independent writers, a place where their works can have the proper exposure to readers, writers, other literary communities as well as publication firms around the world. Our passion and commitment to writers and readers began in 2015 with the promise to be the true free press of the people. With each passing day we reaffirm our vision of being the voice from New York City to the world.

Paul Rushworth-Brown is the author of three novels:

The bleak Pennine moors of Yorkshire; a beautiful, harsh place, close to the sky, rugged and rough, no boundaries except the horizon, which in places, went on forever. Green pastures and wayward hills, the colours of ochre, brown and pink in the Spring. Green squares divided the land on one side of the lane, and on the other; sheep with thick wool and dark snouts dotted the hills and dales. The story, set on the Moors of West Yorkshire, follows wee Thomas and his family shortly after losing his father to consumption. Times were tough in 1603 and there were shenanigans and skulduggery committed by locals and outsiders alike. Queen Bess has died, and King James sits on the throne of England and Scotland. Thomas Rushworth is now the man of the house being the older of two boys. He is set to wed Agnes in an arranged marriage, but a true love story develops between them.

AN HISTORIC JOURNEY OF TWISTS AND ADVENTURE WITH A DASH OF SPIRITED PASSION.

A tale of a peasant family caught in the ravages of the English Civil War in 1642. A young man, Tommy Rushworth, tries to stay alive after being conscripted into the Parliamentary Army and taken off to war. Thomas Rushworth Snr is racing against time to save his son from imminent death in a war he wanted no part of.

Back in Haworth, Tommy's mother despairs, awaiting news of the fate of her son and husband. Through the turmoil and suffering, William and Lucy, develop their own love story and are tested to the limit by the persecution of the steward of the manor who conspires to sabotage their future.

The bloody hell of war and the saga of family tribulations drive this period drama with exceptional narrative and factual accuracy of the talented author who penned SKULDUGGERY and is becoming one of Australia’s established new authors.

Beautiful backdrops and compelling action will play out before you as you are transported back in time. You will laugh, you will cry and be in awe of the twists and turns saying to yourself “I didn’t see that coming". The writing is very descriptive, the hooks very bold and is told in a way that places the reader in the time and place. So, turn the page and step back in time to follow the Rushworths on their journey of love, adventure and survival in this bittersweet family saga.

The Rushworths are poor, hungry tenants of the Puritan Jasper Calamy, of Haworth manor, and scratch out a living tending a few sheep, spinning and weaving wool on put out from passing clothiers for a paltry sum. Their lives are made more difficult by the end of the war which has put an end to the wool trade. Brothers Robert and John want to do more for their family because their parents are getting older. Watch on as Robert Rushworth (Protagonist) and John Rushworth stumble across a way to make their fortune, in the Briggate in Leeds, by mischievous means. They engage the help of Rosie who has a specific set of talents and robs from the rich in the Shambles. John and Rosie fall in love and try to convince Robert to stop his thieving ways. He agrees but only after he has finished one more job, stealing a sapphire necklace belonging to the alderman. Will Robert be caught and hanged? Was his father’s dream a premonition?
