From the Viking attack on a small village in Connaught in 893 AD to the establishment of the Clann MacLaoghaire in 1042 AD. The story covers the lives of Scolai, Daigh, Laoghaire and Conall as they fight for the Dal gCais clan leaders Lorcain, Cennetig and Brian set against the real backdrop of battles for thrones and power.

The story focuses on the life of Conall as he fights for Brian Boru, the High King, through the Battle of Clontarf and Brian’s death.
