Between the Covers Interview with Publisher - Bradley Shaw

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

Talking with author Paul Rushworth-Brown author of 'Skulduggery' to be released April 15 2021.

Bradley: Good evening everybody, my name is Bradley Shaw, thank-you for joining us this evening. Today we're talking with Paul Rushworth-Brown who has written a fabulous new book called 'Skulduggery'. Thank you for joining us Paul, how are you?

Paul: Really well thank-you Bradley, it's great to be here.

Bradley: Thank-you and thank-you for writing such a wonderful book and allowing us to support you I think its fascinating and I think the viewers and readers will enjoy it as much as us. For those that have not read or heard of it, could you give us a snapshot on what the book is about?

Paul: It's set in the time of the English Reformation, bit of love, bit of adventure, mystery, few twists and turns that people probably wont expect. I don't pull punches when I write; its' very historically accurate and one of the main reasons I wrote it was because there has been many books written about nobles, lords and ladies, so this is a story about the common people, copyholders on the moors of Yorkshire back in 1603. It wouldn't have been an easy life.

Bradley: No No and did you have to do a lot of research for this sort of book?...

RELEASED APRIL 15- ORDER NOW

Skulduggery- The bleak Pennine moors of Yorkshire; a beautiful, harsh place, close to the sky, rugged and rough, no boundaries except the horizon, which in places, went on forever. Green pastures and wayward hills, the colours of ochre, brown and pink in the Spring. Green squares divided the land on one side of the lane, and on the other; sheep with thick wool and dark snouts dotted the hills and dales. The story, set on the Moors of West Yorkshire, follows wee Thomas and his family shortly after losing his father to consumption. Times were tough in 1603 and there were shenanigans and skulduggery committed by locals and outsiders alike. Queen Bess has died, and King James sits on the throne of England and Scotland. Thomas Rushworth is now the man of the house being the older of two boys. He is set to wed Agnes in an arranged marriage, but a true love story develops between them.

"A glorious read of a period well versed and presented with accuracy and authentic telling by an author who is as much engrossed in his prose as the reader he shares with...masterful and thoroughly enjoyable...5 stars." Adrian, Indibook reviewer.
